Biodiversity Sri Lanka launched its second publication “LIFE”, a collection of Environmental Conservation success stories from the Travel & tourism sector. The SriLankan Airlines environmental journey was also showcased in this book among many other elite establishments of the island such as Dilmah, Aitken Spence & Cinnamon Hotels. The book was launched at Ramada, Colombo on the 17th of September 2020, immediately following the 5th Annual General Meeting of Biodiversity Sri Lanka (BSL).
World recognition for Dhanushka
Giving the SriLankan Family another reason to celebrate, Environmental Compliance and Planning Manager Dhanushka De Silva was identified as one of the one of the Honorees of ‘the Environment + Energy 100’, a “best of” list for environment and energy professionals in the world, in the annual assessment handle by Environment and Energy Leaders Institute, USA together with Industry Magazines, ‘Environmental leader’ and ‘Energy manger Today’.

SriLankan Airlines being one of the forerunners in the Aviation-environment arena gained a worldwide recognition for its pioneering efforts when the prestigious ‘Business Traveler’ magazine ranked the airline second among airlines in the Asia and Asia-Pacific region for having the lowest carbon footprint recently.

Taking forward the green legacy of the national carrier, SriLankan successfully completed the International Air Transport Association’s Environment Assessment (IEnvA) Program Stage 01 Assessment. SriLankan has completed the first of two stages of assessments alongside some other prominent international carriers including, Iceland air and Qatar Airways.
