My ticket was purchased from a travel agent. Can I change my itinerary on www.srilankan.com?
Only tickets purchased on www.srilankan.com can be changed online via our “Manage My Booking” feature.
To change the itinerary for a ticket you’ve purchased from your travel agent, please get in touch with your travel agent directly. Contact your nearest SriLankan Airlines office or 24*7 Global contact center.
A processing fee will apply if the booking is changed through your local airline office or Global contact center
How does SriLankan Airlines classify adult, child, and infant passengers?
Adults are classified as individuals aged more than 18 years.
Young Passengers are classified as young children between 12-15 years of age but have not reached the 16th Birthday who travels alone.
Unaccompanied Minors are classified as any child between the age of 5 and 11 years not accompanied by an adult of over 18 years of age.
Unaccompanied Minors are not allowed to travel alone. For the procedure to follow for Unaccompanied Minors, please see our page on Special assistance or contact our Global Call Centre as necessary arrangements have to be taken prior to the flight of Unaccompanied Minors. Children are classified as between 2 to 12 years of age but not reached the 12th Birthday.
Infants are classified as under 2 years old but not reached their 2nd Birthday. If an infant reaches 2 years of age after the commencement of travel, the infant should have a child ticket.
For passengers travelling from the United Kingdom
Children aged between 12 to 15 years are considered as young adults. A tax relaxation of GB tax is exempted for young adults who are less than 15 years old.

What are the documents I need to produce at the airport?
You may be asked to show a printout of the e-ticket of your travel at certain airports.
Each passenger is required to hold a valid passport & Visa(s) with expiry dates in accordance with the countries the passenger will be travelling to in order to be allowed entry to each destination on your itinerary as well to the Transit Points (if required). Immigration of respective countries may request you to produce additional documents depending on your reason for travel and other conditions. SriLankan Airlines will not be held responsible if a passenger is denied entry and/or is deported by any local authority.
If you have purchased your ticket from the official website www.srilankan.com, Mobile App or 24*7 Global contact center you may have to present the credit/debit card used to purchase the ticket for verification purpose. Click here for more information.
I have lost my ticket, what do I do?
We use electronic tickets today which is emailed to your email address. You can request a copy of your ticket at any time from where the ticket was purchased. Click here to find the nearest Sri Lankan Airlines Office.
Do you handle visas as well?
We do not assist with the application and the processing of visa. Passengers must directly arrange their visa through the visa authorities of respective countries
It is the passenger’s responsibility to ensure that he/she is in possession of all the documents required by the local immigration authorities at the relevant transits and destinations. SriLankan Airlines will not take any responsibility for consequences faced by the passenger(s) as a result of not being in possession of the required visa/documents.
Is travel insurance provided by SriLankan Airlines?
No, we do not currently provide travel insurance.
Is there any other way I can get these fares, other than through the website?
Yes, there is a possibility of getting these fares through SriLankan Airlines offices and travel agents UNLESS SPECIFIED that the fares and promotions are only available online.
The fares that state as exclusively online are only available through our website and you may not be able to get the same fare elsewhere.
However, please note that the counter fares at SriLankan Airlines offices may differ as counter fares will incur an airline fee. However, when you book your flights on www.srilankan.com, we guarantee you around the clock support, ability to manage your own booking online and also the best available fares without any hidden charges.

When I try and book online, it shows a higher fare than the promotional fare, why is this?
The seats allocated for the promotional fare may have been sold out, hence you may be quoted with the next available fare which may be higher than the promotional price. Please note that until you make the relevant payments in your online purchase, your seat for that fare is not guaranteed.
What are ‘Fare/Purchase Conditions’?
Fare/purchase conditions are the conditions attached to a ticket that pertains to its use.
Fare conditions differ from one fare to another and the most common conditions that you should look for are…
i) Whether your ticket is refundable in the event your travel plans change
ii) Whether additional charges will occur in the event your travel plans change
iii) The minimum notice required before cancelling & rebooking travel.
When you are booking your tickets online, you can view the rules related to any flight before adding it to your itinerary by simply clicking on ‘Purchase Conditions’ at the right side of the page.

Can I book flights originating out of another country, from where I am on www.srilankan.com?
Yes this is possible. E.g. If you reside in Sri Lanka, you can make a booking for yourself to travel out of London.
However, please note that the payment will be collected as per the guidelines set up for the originating city of travel.
How do I know if my online ticket has been booked and paid for within the booking process?
Once you have confirmed all your flight, personal, and payment details, a summary of this information will be displayed along in the site with your booking reference.
The booking reference indicates that your reservation has been confirmed. An email confirming your booking will be sent to the email address provided by you during the booking process. Please contact bookings@srilankan.com to clarify any issues.
I have made a booking online but not been successful, how do I find out whether I have been charged for this?
If you haven’t proceeded to the payment page and not entered the payment details, you have not paid for your booking. In the unlikely occasion that you have and the ticket has not been issued, please contact bookings@srilankan.com
Alternatively, you can also check with your card company whether you have been charged for the booking or inform the same to bookings@srilankan.com.
Can I make a booking without my passport details?
Yes you can for most countries but for certain countries, your passport details are required for making your booking. In most cases, your passport is only required at the check-in counter or online check-in as you check-in for the flight.
However you are required to possess a valid passport at the time of travel.
