Is verification required for online credit card payments?
In some cases itineraries purchased with credit/debit cards from srilankan.com or the Global contact center may require the card holder to provide additional payment verification upon request from the airline
However, if you have purchased your ticket from srilankan.com and Verified by Visa’ or ‘MasterCard® SecureCode™’ security feature is enabled by your card company, then the aforesaid verification processes will not be required.
Can I make a booking online with my card if I am not travelling myself?
You can. However, you are required to visit your nearest SriLankan Airlines office with the credit card that you used to purchase the tickets at least 24 hours prior to departure of the passenger(s) along with the relevant documents. For more information, Click here

After inserting your card details, you will be directed to a webpage where you can enter your security details (ex-one time password) given by your issuing bank if in case your card is verified in the aforesaid manner. Check with your credit card issuing bank to find out if your card is ‘Verified by Visa’ or ‘MasterCard® SecureCode™’.

A friend is paying for my ticket and he is traveling with me on the same flight. If he is not traveling on one leg of the journey, will it be a problem?
This won’t be a problem as long as your friend is flying on the first sector of the journey with you. He may however be required to produce the card which was used to make the booking at the airport in order for you to board the flight.
However, if Verified by Visa’ or ‘MasterCard® SecureCode™’ security feature is enabled by your card company, then the aforesaid verification processes will not be required.

What do I do if my card gets lost or changed after purchasing the ticket online or through the Global Contact center?
If you are not in possession of your card which was used to make the booking online, please contact bookings@srilankan.com or the nearest SriLankan Airlines office 4 days prior to the departure of your flight and obtain approval for a hassle free check-in during your travel without the card.
What happens if I cannot present the credit card upon check-in?
If you are unable to present the credit card upon check-n, you will be denied boarding the flight and you may be required to purchase a new ticket for your journey.
Please note that SriLankan Airlines will not be held responsible for any delays, costs incurred due to such instances. The passenger alone will be solely responsible for any costs occurred due to missing your connecting flights and other inconveniences.
Can I pay for this booking using a supplementary card?
The use of supplementary cards for online purchases is up to the discretion of the card company. Please check with your card company regarding the possibility.
I have a Corporate Card, can I use it to purchase online?
Yes, you may use the Corporate Card to purchase tickets for any number of passengers. However, the same credit card rules, regulations and procedure shall apply. Obtaining all necessary verification remains the sole responsibility of the passenger. Please contact bookings@srilankan.com for further details.
What are the credit card service fees that will apply?
However, please note that there can be an international transaction fee involved from the issuing bank’s end and the airline will not be held responsible for any such costs incurred.
